How To Use PPC For Affiliate Marketing Success

Copyright (c) 2011 Andrew HoltomYour affiliate marketing success depends on using the marketing tools available to you in the right way. In this article I share with you how to use PPC to promote your affiliate products. Creating affiliate marketing success depends on knowing what works and what the rules are. For example, it used to be acceptable with Google to post an ad on Adwords that linked through to a product on the site of a merchant. Now things have changed, and to use PPC - an advertiser will need to link through to their own site with a landing page that is relevant to a search term. In this article, I'm going to take you through the steps necessary to get the most from Google adwords. Google Adwords can bring you a lot of reward, but only if you use it properly. Not using it properly from day one can in fact provide you with some very expensive (both in terms of time and money) education. Create your landing page. When you select your keywords, you will need to create a landing page. Ideally it will contain the keyword that you want to use in the headline of your page. Remember people are looking and searching for a term, help them find it. If you present them with something similar, they won't be able to compute between the terms. Humans can be very narrow minded when searching on the internet. If they don't see what they are looking for they will rapidly move on.Create a group of ads. I've experienced the most affiliate marketing success with this strategy that I'm going to share with you here. Create a small group of ads that use a particular keyword and link them to a related landing page on your site. The landing page needs to be designed for the keywords. The more relevant the keywords are to the page, the better results you will have. If your keywords are not relevant then people will leave your page rapidly and move on. You don't want to be paying for this financially - you are looking for affiliate marketing success. The page needs to be a logical follow on from the ad. Track the ads. Track each ad closely. There is a certain psychology behind every keyword. It's your challenge to understand what the behaviour is related to your keywords. Change one component at a time. Some gurus say that you cannot tell what the effect of an ad is until you've had 3000 clicks. I think that even 30 is enough for you to tell if you are barking up the right tree. Use Exact Match. This will ensure that when a particular keyword is typed, your ad will be shown. This is the only reliable way of tracking your results. It might be that a more expensive keyword gains you more results than a cheaper one - one that sells your products that is more expensive is better than a cheaper non-seller. Tell your customer what you want them to do.If you want them to order now, then tell them in the ad. If you want them to go to your site, then tell them.Test and test again.Test each component of each ad. Then test each component of each landing page. You need to find out which components are working with you towards affiliate marketing success. My ads and landing pages are given the full A/B treatment. How to use pay per click advertising is a big topic. I've provided a simple introduction here, but if you really want to learn more about it, seek the services of a specialist business or provider.
