How Do I Get Rid of My Social Anxiety? Positive Responses

Anxiety can be a very frustrating, especially if you don't know what to do to get rid of social anxiety. First and foremost is to not punish yourself. Everyone feels anxiety. What to do now is to make new habits that will help.

Social anxiety is a reaction to stress, and reacts just as your mind is telling you the danger you feel is real. Once you start believing and seeing danger around every corner, your body will prepare like there IS danger around every one of those corners. These responses can cause physical tension, and other physical traits that can be quite painful. The fear signals this.

These are a subconscious response to these signals you're putting out. What you need to do to help get rid of social anxiety is to help get rid of these responses.

Easier said that done? What if I said you replace the responses with positive responses?

Negative responses creep in your mind when you're nervous over something. Instead of letting them accumulate, and having more thoughts adding worry, you are going to stop those thoughts from then doing harm it is causing.

There's something you need to do before you can start using positive reinforcement on these nervous thoughts. You have to be able to identify when and how it feels like when anxiety starts to rise for you.

Keep a journal or something similar and make a list of everything that makes your anxiety strike. Write out what symptoms accompany these anxious moments. They will help you identify certain triggers, and help you figure out if you feel the same thing other times, or if the responses are different. You can use this list to compare, and find a point you can still calm yourself down. Monitoring yourself helps you find the pattern in how the anxiety builds.

Positive responses to this can start to contradict all these signals that have been put out. In other words, help calm yourself down!

Visualize a time when your anxiety didn't affect you. How good it felt and/or how happy you were. Holding your head up high for something that made you feel almost glow with pride. How relaxed you were, and confident with yourself.

These are powerful imagery tools that you need to hold on to. They can make a world of difference if the next time you start feeling anxious, to visualize yourself back in those moments. Happy moments.

Practice walking around happy and with confidence. Practice with imagery something to think for when anxiety strikes again. By practicing, you will be able to use these methods. You will have rehearsed what to do so that you can get rid of your social anxiety.
