Tips To Help With Your Refrigerator Repair

It is very common for just about every house to have a refrigerator today and yet, it is one of the most important, if not the most important appliance in the home. It is the appliance that keeps our food fresh longer. Without it, where would we store our diary products, vegetables or TV dinners? When our refrigerator goes on the fritz, it isn't something we take lightly. We attempt to get it repaired immediately.

To assist you with keeping your refrigerator in good working order for many years, we recommend to always perform preventative maintenance. Yes, it can be hassle and who normally wants to take the time to do any of this? You should only need to do this once or twice a year so, mark a day on your calendar to ensure it gets done.At times, the top of refrigerator may become a natural habitat for various objects or papers that we need a place for and just don't feel like taking the time to put them away. We recommend to always keep the top of your refrigerator free and clear to help prevent any objects from falling down behind the appliance which may block the necessary airflow it needs to work properly. Make sure there is always at least 3 inches of space around your refrigerator.

Before doing anything with your refrigerator unplug it first to be on the safe side.

Whether your refrigerator has the condenser coils located in the rear or the bottom, dust them off at least once a year. Dust can restrict air movement air movement and eventually cause you problems in the future.

Next, take off the kick plate, it is the grill located at the bottom front of the fridge and clean the kick plate by spraying it down with water to help get rid of any dust or debris. Using either a coil brush or a vacuum cleaner clean all around the coils.

After you have finished with cleaning the coils and placed the kick plate back onto your fridge, check to the door gaskets for any tears and make sure they are sealing properly.

A few things you should always remember, is when moving your refrigerator to another place to keep it upright, never leave it unplug for extended periods of time and never over stuff your refrigerator.
