We appear to be spending more and more money on quick fixes-fast food,wolfing food down in the car, between appointments. The standard cup of coffee in our hands when walking to the office. We do not take time for food anymore. We certainly don't respect it like we used to. So basically, if we fill our bodies with junk on the go, our digestive system will become overloaded. Virtually all fast food is acidic forming which is totally bad for the body. Even a perfectly healthy salad, soaked in chemically laden dressing is not doing your body much good. Examine the ingredients in salad dressing next time you order one. The last time I did this, they gave me their huge bottle they used to fill up the smaller ones - the ingredient list was a mile long. When I prepare salad dressing, it contains good quality oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper and garlic - that's just four ingredients! By the way, it takes me something like 2 minutes to do this.

All this toxicity in our bodies has consequences. First of all there's the weight gain. Moreso though there is our body not working as it should be to eliminate all the toxic waste we put inside it. It's virtually clogged down. Our digestion slows and mucus and toxins build up in our colon. This is why we then turn to a colon cleanser. Particularly if you go to a health food store and ask for advice there, you will most likely end up with a good herbal cleanser. Definitely a good idea.

On the other hand, the better idea would be to give up the extra coffee and fast food. Take time to prepare fresh, healthy meals and then eat them slowly, chewing each bite many times. This is how we should be eating each day. We've just forgotten due to our stressed out lives. When was the last time you ate like that? When was the last time you ate without the distraction of the television, driving, or simply stress? Slow down, give it a try. When you learn to do this and to eat only when you are hungry and stop when you are satisfied, your weight will stabilize and your body will get back to normal.
