Setup of aquariums is not a very difficult or tedious task but you have to follow step-by-step process. You have to work on maintenance of tropical fish tanks once at a week or at most once every two week in order to have a successful fish tank. Secondly, you have to decide size of aquarium before purchasing it. Size depends on what kinds of fish you want to keep inside it because some fish grow 12 to 13 inches while some fish van grow only 1 or 2 inches. So, you have to choose custom size of an aquarium as per your requirements. Third important thing is the location of tank, it should be on that area where light and temperature can not be affected by external sources like heater vents or windows.
After that, do not use soap or detergent in washing out your tanks, use only fresh water. Wash out the gravel thoroughly before adding it to your tank. You can use rocks in along with pasta strainer to wash it. After adding the gravel, you can place the tropical fish as well as real or fake plants for decoration. Now, you can add water in your aquariums by placing a plate or saucer in the middle of the aquarium and directing the water flow onto the plate. Don't fill-up completely until you are sure about the layout of the decoration which prevents water to spill over whenever you place your arm in to moving the stuff.
Now, you can install heater without plug-in until the thermostat of the heater has adjusted to the water temperature. After that, place your tank light and hood on the fish tank and check your power cords to be sure that they are free of water. Finally, plug all equipments into a power strip and turn-on the aquarium. After doing the all above mentioned tasks, you have to wait some more time to add tropical fish. Only add one or two fishes at a time because if you add couple of fishes at a time in your tank, it will increase biological load as the fish which has been kept in the tanks, take at least 15 minutes to adjust themselves according to temperature of aquarium's water.
Now, your fish tanks have been successfully installed and you need to maintenance of it, once a week or once every two week.
