It is quite an irony that the reign of Cards is coming back in our midst. By cards here, we would mean the greeting cards. The kind of card that could almost always move us and strengthen us to face the challenges that life has to offer. We are all aware about the technological advancements especially that of the internet. More and more programs and other technological platforms are being developed in order to make communication, no matter how far, easier.
If we would really think about it, the emergence of e-mail, electronic cards and social networking sites should have made the greeting cards irrelevant. Such advancements should have diverted the attention of the people from the typical card to the flashy greeting cards that we could give for free in the internet. But that is not happening and by the looks of it, it is actually far from happening.
If you are wondering real hard why is that so? What it is in cards that make people patronize them over the years? Well, for most people, they would take the risk of giving someone special a card in order to be sentimental. It appears that a handwritten note holds more impact than a message that is computerized. A handwritten message has a personal touch. This is why many would even more appreciate if they would receive a handmade card.
A personalized card is not really a usual fare. We all know that hassle that such product may cause us. It could eat our time and consume our energy. If we are also not on the creative side and we don't have any plans for our card, then chances are we will be wasting also our money with the materials that we will buy for this handmade card. But for whatever its worth, most of us are willing to take the risk especially if the recipient of the card is really important to us.
But come to think of it, if people are really rooted for the traditional means, then why did they dismiss the idea of writing our thoughts into tablets of stones?
People go for practicality. Although electronic cards and other means of communication involving technology is somehow practical these days, some traditional folks claim that it defeats the whole purpose of the card.
