Last year Hyundai Motor India stirred the premium Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment by launching its much awaited Santa Fe. This year too the country's second largest carmaker has plans of launching new products to capture a bigger pie of the booming Indian car market. Recently, spy shots of the Hyundai i45 testing between Chennai Bengaluru found their way on the internet. From the spy pictures hosted by an auto forum the car looks well styled on the outside and luxurious on the inside. The GDI seen on the rear of the car has got the car enthusiasts expecting a 2.0 litre turbo charged engine capable of producing 210bhp. Also, the fact that the test mule was running undisguised hints at the fact that the carmaker might be close to the launch date of the model.

However, a lot would depend on the pricing strategy adopted by the company. Right kind of pricing would ensure that the car would bite straight into the market share of cars like Honda Civic, Toyota Altis, Skoda Laura et al.Other than the probable launch of i45 Hyundai is all set to bring the RB saloon, called Solaris in Russain, to the Indian market. Hyundai showcased the RB Saloon in the Moscow Auto Show last year. It is aimed at developing markets, mainly the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) economies. The Hyundai Cars is likely to be available in 1.4 and 1.6 Gamma petrol engines capable of generating 106bhp and 122bhp respectively. The cars would have four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual transmission options.

The new Hyundai RB is actually an advanced version of the old Hyundai Accent and is built on the fluid sculpture' format of the company. The car has a dynamic design and includes new bumpers, new front grille, bonnet and headlights. At present the Hyundai Accent available in India comes with a 1.5-litre Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) petrol engine producing 94 bhp and 12.5 kgm of torque. It has a 5-speed manual transmission option. The car is also available in CNG and LPG variants.
