What Free Quick Weight Loss Programs Are Available

Have you had difficulty losing weight in the past? That's really not a surprise, and usually it's through no fault of your own. It seems as if society sets a double standard when it comes to losing weight. American society seems to suggest that people should look as skinny as Lindsay Lohan even while they are bombarded with advertisements of fast food restaurants, junk food and processed dinners. Furthermore, a lot of weight loss programs are on the pricey side; a subscription service to "healthy" meals can cost hundreds of dollars a month. Even weight loss facilities charge hefty prices for their professionally supervised programs.

Are there any free quick weight loss programs or strategies out there? There may be some programs available free online, as many non-membership websites are willing to exchange weight loss ideas for traffic. These programs are obviously not supervised, and hence a lack of discipline may not be helpful to some dieters who have difficulty becoming motivated.

How about radical diets or even weight loss pills? Think twice before using these programs, as many in the medical profession doubt their effectiveness and even speculate that they might be unhealthy. There is no quick way of slimming down, unless you count fasting. Of course, even if you were to fast you would still have loose skin to worry about. Then you have the radical lemon-a-day plans (or any number of variations on this principle) which do take pounds off quickly; however, dieters usually gain all the weight back just as fast in the weeks that follow because they don't truly change their eating habits, just temporarily fast.

Therefore, the most effective way to lose weight would be in counting calories and carbs and making time to exercise. Dieters should avoid any radical diet that reduces a normal amount of food per day or that force feeds one type of food, like all meat, or all dairy. In fact, the whole idea of an "eat all you want" weight loss diet is contrary to the most practical advice: eat less, not more.

Dieters must also make sure that they are exercising enough to burn off the calories they are taking in on a regular basis. Furthermore, it's not always about energy intake being greater than energy expenditure. Sometimes the types of calories we take in play an important factor in determining metabolism. Remember that you can find a weight loss program free online and can enlist the help of friends for better results.
