The Curse of Being a Woman with Too Many Curves

Cowboobs. Spillage. Quadraboobs. Muffin Tops. Mushroom Cups. Boob-droop. Granny boobs. Call it what you want. It's known by many names and has many a couple different looks. But it doesn't matter what it's called or what it looks like. It all amounts to the same problem. Your bra doesn't fit. And by the looks of the mall last weekend, these women are everywhere. It's become an epidemic.Admittedly, since the age of 16 I have occasionally found myself living with cowboob (a name my girlfriend and I came up with when I was 16 because we both frequently felt like we had an utter [4 boobs] when wearing our bras instead of the usual two). I still crack up at the name. Other times in my life, usually after some drastic weight loss, like when I was post-partum, I have found myself living with boob-droop. You know, the ones that hang too far down even in a bra. As much as I hate to admit it, I've been guilty of this crime against fashion many times in my life.As I look in the mirror today, I am starting to notice just a tinge of spillage. BLECK! Wasn't I just fitted about 4 months ago? Honestly, it's like a disease that I can never really get away from. I suppose it's the curse of curves.Yes, it sounds absurd. A curse for having curves. But, honestly I think there is. Have you ever noticed that most of these women are slim not usually overweight with a larger than average bust? That's a good thing, right? Well, it is until you try to go bra shopping.Good luck finding one that fits if you are larger than a D-cup. It's rather ironic that the figure which is so idealized (hourglass, curvy, and busty) is the one that is the most difficult to fit. Nothing else can explain this except a curse. To find a curvy size (28D-40K) in the mall is as rare as finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The mall lingerie shops and department stores generally have a specific range they carry (32B-40DDD). The Plus Size shops carry the larger bands and some larger cups (38B -48H). But what does a girl who is a 32F do? How about a 28DDD? (And yes, these are real sizes for natural breasts). They are forced to fit into what they can find; and what they can find doesn't fit. I know because I've had a curvy shape since I was 16.I estimate that about 1/3 of the U.S. women have bust sizes 28D-40K. Yet only a rare few are fortunate enough to live near a local specialty shop that carries her size. I live in Southern California, a fashion hub, and I've NEVER lived near one of these shops. So if you are one of these lucky women go buy a lottery ticket because you have found your own personal genie in a bottle. For the rest of us, there hasn't been much we could to find a bra that fitsuntil recently.Cori Beckett is the founder of the webstore,PinkFoxLingerie.com,that specializes in helping curvy womenfind beautiful and well-fitted lingerie including Panache bras, Dimityso and more.
