Kickyerbuttastic!

By Lauri Ury "Smallu"

I got one of these for my husband for Christmas because we have no stereo system at all. Since all of our music is digital I decided to get a docking station for our iPod/iPhone. This one had great reviews, so I bought one. NOW I WISH I'D BOUGHT 27 OF THEM!! Seriously, I want one in both bathrooms, every bedroom, one in the living room and one in the kitchen. The sound is incredible for how affordable the unit is. The ONLY way to improve it would be for it to come with a remote (or maybe it did and I missed seeing him open that part and it's since been put away somewhere). I haven't been able to test how long the system will run on batteries, but it takes AAs and we have rechargeable ones. I can't wait to take this little guy with us to Greenlake in the summer.

Great for bedroom/kitchen

I bought this speaker for my wife after doing extensive research. I wanted something inexpensive with good sound and the flexibility of being portable. This device met all of my criteria and the sound is very nice for such a small docking station. My wife absolutely loves it!

The only thing I did not understand with this is; Why does it have a power switch in the back and a power button on top? When I first got it I thought it was broke because I pressed the top power button and nothing happened. Once I moved the power switch on the back it worked great. Great Little System By George May (Kentucky, USA)

This is a great little docking station for my iPod. The key word there is little. The sound is great for the price and size of the system. I bought one for my desk at work. My wife saw it and liked it so I bought her one too. And then later on I decided to buy myself another one for listening to at home. Of course the sound is not as good as my Surround Sound System in my Man Cave, but I did pay a few hundred dollars for that system. I am a "Baby Boomer" who grew up on Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, James Taylor etc. This system is good for listening to something like the Beatles or James Taylor but if you want to get the best sound out of Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath listen to them on a more expensive system. But I would definitely recommend this system for any type of music which you don't have to play loud to get the full enjoyment. I only gave it 4 stars because I can't get full enjoyment when I listen to...Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Deep Purple, Van Halen, etc, etc, etc. But I have an extensive music collection which includes; Jazz, Country, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, Pop, Easy Listening, Blues, Folk, New Age, R&B, Alternative, etc,...so I can listen to and enjoy a lot of my music on this system.

Good for small room, but lasts only few months

We needed some speakers in our kitchen, so I wanted something that didn't take up too much counter space. These speakers are compact, portable, and easy to use. Sound is pretty decent. However, the connection to the iPod stopped working after a few months. We now have to use the wired connection to the back of the speakers and lay the iPod on the counter next to them. Definitely a hassle, but you get what you pay for...meaning they are inexpensive.

Remarkably good for the price

At $60 and change I would consider this speaker dock a little expensive, but for the $35 Amazon is selling it for, it's a steal. I wanted a compact speaker dock for a child's bedroom that can charge and play an iPod, and I didn't want to spend a fortune for a child's bedroom. The Cyber Acoustics dock is exactly what I was looking for. It charges all three devices I've tried it with -- a first generation iPod nano (yes, some of us still have them :-), an iPod nano 3g, and an iPhone 3GS. All three charge and play flawlessly.

The docking connector is easy to use and looks sturdier than some I've seen, and it accepts the Apple universal docking inserts so you can get an insert to fit any iOS device Apple's ever sold. The controls are dead simple to use -- just power and volume up/volume down -- and the sound quality is much better than you would expect for such a small and inexpensive unit. As a bonus, it'll run on batteries (without charging the iPod) if you need it to be portable.

It's definitely a bare-bones feature set. No remote control, no ability to switch playlists or tracks from the unit itself without using the iPod controls, no fancy features of any kind. But if all you're looking for is a small, inexpensive, easy to use, portable charging speaker dock for an iOS device, the Cyber Acoustics seems to be an excellent choice.
