The low angle shot enables us to view the world in different angles. With another angle, you can view the new and vivid scenery. With the right skills, you can view different world. The simple upward shooting can be called the low angle photo. But here we are talking to lower the cheap cameras.
Forget the viewfinder
In most of the time, you can't use the viewfinder. You are lucky if your camera has the rotatable LCD screen.
Know the focal length
You'd better use the wide angle lens. For the 1.6x camera, the 10-22mm lens is good. And the fish-eye lens is also qualified. And you can also try the 18-200mm lens.
Aperture and depth of field
When you take the low angle shot, it's not suitable to always use the largest aperture or shallow depth of field. Each lens has the best operating position.
Keep the camera horizontal
When you make the camera close to the ground or other low shooting subject, don't forget to keep the camera horizontal. You can save much time in adjusting the photo angle on your computer.
Avoid the sky exposure problem
In a sunny day, all your photos will look good. You can get the exact white balance and good exposure. But you may find your low angle shot is not that good.
If there is large sky area and it's a sunny day, you need the exposure compensation. The bright sunshine will make the camera decrease the light exposure. It's just like we will wink the eyes when we look at the sun lying on the grassland.
Composing a picture
You can imagine what the scene is in a low angle. The photo should contain some interesting things which can be a stone, an aple or anything else. It's a chance to make the common thing different.
Shoot, playback and duplication
It's the advantage to the photographer brought by camera. Though I don't like to playback each phote as the definition of the camera screen is not large enough, I'd like to try it. I can know the place I can improve. We can try it repeately including the picture composition and exposure until we get the satisfactory result.
Don't forget to delete the trial photos.
