Based on a classic adventure novel by the same name, Around the World in 80 Days was released in 2004 and was an instant success at the box office. Starring Jackie Chan as Passepartout, the Chinese peasant, and Steve Coogan as Phileas Fogg, the eccentric English inventor, Around the World in 80 Days is packed with action, drama and comedy.
The movie is set in 1872 and focuses mainly on Passepartout who is a Chinese thief. He steals a jade Buddha from the Bank of England and tries to convince Fogg to take him along on his journey as his French valet. Fogg places a wager with a rival scientist and insists that he can travel the entire world in merely 80 days with the help of various different modes of transportation, which were then considered modern. Passepartout considers this to be a great opportunity to get out of England and reach home safe and sound, along with the stolen treasure.
The movie spans over many countries, including Turkey, France, India, USA and China. Around the World in 80 Days sees Phileas Fogg and Passepartout head out on a daring journey that brings many exciting and dangerous adventures their way.
