Presently, even though the majority of the population refers is to as Cubbon Park, the official name of the park is "Sri Chamarajendra Park", after the silver jubilee celebration of the ruler of Mysore state, Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar.
Regarded as a historical park, it has been carefully preserved under the administration of the Department of Horticulture. Headed by the Deputy Director, the maintenance and upkeep of the park is also done by the Department of Horticulture with the intention of keeping its charming allure in tact.
