All dog lovers wait eagerly for this annual British dog show, held each year at the National Exhibition Centre in March. This year's dates are 10th to 13th March, is being televised by More4, each evening from 7.00 pm til 9.00 pm very good news as the BBC have not been televising the show for a year or two now. If you are able to visit the show, opening times each day are 8.15 am to 19.30 pm.

Anyone who is a fan of the canine world is fascinated by the top breeds shown at Crufts each year. Interestingly, Crufts was instigated by a Victorian, Charles Cruft in 1891. He was in his element organizing the original annual shows. If he were to see how the show is organized now, he would surely be amazed at how his original ideas have been developed into the great annual event it is today.

The main concept of the dog show is to demonstrate interaction between dog and owner, and these exercises are a joy to watch. All the judges are looking for well bred, healthy dogs. Breeding standards are kept to the highest level with tight restrictions by the Kennel Club to ensure good practice in selecting breeding pairs. To acquire Kennel Club registration is to validate to the world that the puppies are bred under the very best of conditions.

There are several Classes' in the show, comprising Working and Pastoral, Gun dogs, Terrier and Hound dogs, and Toy and Utility.
