Network Marketing is, actually, a very simple business. In fact, if we break it up into its two distinct disciplines, it becomes even more simple. Simple in concept, maybe not as simple in implementation.
First, let's look at the first element of Network Marketing - Networking, or relationship building. This is the first place most people start when they embark upon the path to, what they hope to be, financial independence. For most, a lot of this work has already been done and they find themselves ready to start into the second element. But we are getting ahead of ourselves.
To be successful, a person has to either work within their existing relationships, such as friends and family, or work their cold market - strangers. Friends and family will most likely listen to any pitch and either join or tell you how crazy they think you are. After you have burned through your friends and family, you then move into the second element - marketing.
Friends and family can easily be the easiest or the most difficult of sells, depending on your relationship with them and your feelings about hounding them with opportunity after opportunity, or product after product. Eventually, that dog stops hunting and you have to go in search of other markets who may not be as receptive to your message.
Chasing people at the mall, hanging fliers on windshields and door knobs, talking to every store clerk, waitress, barber or hair dresser, and the list goes on, IS NOT MARKETING. Or at least, it is not effective marketing. There are better ways.
Once the family and friends inventory has dwindled and you have burned out of being a nuisance to strangers, you will have to learn how to market effectively. The first thing to learn is to go where the most people are - the Internet. The second thing to learn is WHO you should be marketing to. Trying to convince someone they want to be a network marketer is a hard sell, especially if they don't like direct sells.
It just makes sense to market to those who already want to be in network marketing. And that demographic will include those already involved in the MLM Industry. So, then, what we have established is we should be directing our marketing to those who are, or want to be involved in Network Marketing and we should be doing this on the Internet.
But that is just the beginning. Once the decision is made to market on the Internet, a system has to be in place to, not only generate traffic, but to handle that traffic when it is generated. A capture page is the first place to start. This page has to be effective in capturing the prospects information so that a list can be developed that will enable you to continue to work with the leads you have generated. Not everyone will join up the first contact, in fact that is rare.
After an effective capture page is developed and a list process is employed, you will then have to have an auto-responder set up to enable you to continue to market to your leads. Without it, you will be bogged down with a day to day work load that will keep you from developing the leads in the first place.
Your next step is to develop an effective sales page that will showcase your wares, so to speak, in a manner that will be enticing for your prospects. Without this, you will not be able to convert your prospects into new recruits.
After all this, you need to be making money from your prospecting so that you can afford to stay in the game long enough for your MLM opportunity to develop the leverage to give you the residual income you are looking for.
As you must see by now, this takes a great deal of expertise and time. In fact, a separate article could be written about each element of this marketing program and still not cover it sufficiently. So, you ask, what can be done to streamline this process of learning. The answer is very simple - a system.
By finding a system that provides all the elements mentioned above, you can eliminate all the time and effort it would take, not to mention the trial and error, to develop just such an effective system. So, find that system, plug into it and you will start to see real success in your network marketing opportunity.
