Anger management issues are a very difficult problem for not only the individual who has the problem, but for anyone that is part of this person's life no matter to what degree. Step #1:
Identify that there is a anger problem. Don't just assume that you are a hot head by nature, and that there is nothing that you can do about it. It is important that once you have identified that you have an anger management problem that you come to the conclusion that you want to do something about it for you. Yes, taking care of anger issues is most important to your friends and family, but you are more prone to being committed to positive actions if you are doing so for yourself.

Don't be embarrassed to admit you have an anger management problem. All too often angry outbursts causes a great deal of embarrassment. By explaining to those that are close to you that you realize you are having an anger problem, then it makes it much more tolerable and understandable for them. This is of course if you are following up with your admission of there being a problem, with the steps to getting help.
Step #4:
Accept help when its offered. There is much that friends and family can help you with to overcome your anger breakouts. Close family members can give you a warning when you are displaying signs of a temper breakout that you may not even be aware of yourself. If you have made pre arrangements that a person will forewarn you then you can plan on taking some alternate actions to buy you some time to get the situation under control.
Step #4:
Educate yourself. The more you know about anger management problems and the types of help available, the more you are going to be able to do about it. You will find that it will not be so frustrating or perhaps scary for you to have to deal with this problem. Your new found knowledge in anger management control should give you the comfort of knowing that this is a treatable problem.
There is much available by way of anger manager help and resources both on a informal and formal level. There is no reason why any individual that has anger problems to have live this way.
