Is there a best book for overcoming anxiety?

Overcoming anxiety is an area in the self-help market swarming with book titles. There is a wealth of published work to fish through.

There is, however, an outstanding book, one which is remarkably helpful.

It is one I've read cover-to-cover numerous times.

I have viewed the book from the perspective of both a sufferer and a therapist working with sufferers of anxiety.

I first discovered this anxiety book by chance, rather than by research.

I was increasingly desperate to find a book that would really help me overcome the problems of severe anxiety. Reading an effective book seemed the best way of dealing with my anxiety.

Looking back I realise how lucky I was to discover this book.

It is inspirational, both in terms of understanding the situations and providing simple and effective techniques to allow one to control anxiety.

The overcoming anxiety book is "Self Help for your Nerves" by Dr. Claire Weekes.

What is it about this book that makes it so wonderful?

This is the type of anxiety book which you will find yourself wanting to read and re-read again and again.

Anxiety is a state that can make you feel terribly isolated and alone. This book helps to dissolve those feelings of being alone in the problem and the solution.

This anxiety book has integrity and authenticity which you can really sense when you read it.

Even though there has been so much work carried out in this area since this anxiety book was written it still has a unique perspective.

Along with this empathetic understanding of anxiety, Weekes' book is practical in its usage and easy to apply.

Reading this anxiety book is like having a caring therapist/mentor by your side saying the very thing you need to hear.

The beauty of this book is the way you can dip or dive back into it at any time. That makes it unique amongst others of its self-help genre.

I believe this book details and explains an anxious state better than any other overcoming anxiety book that I have read.

It describes how anxiety is so easy to suffer from.

But as well as detailing the problem it provides simple, yet very effective, techniques to help you overcome anxiety.

She also gives a wonderful explanation of the more advanced forms of nervous illness and explains that it can be overcome.

I have read and researched many hundreds of books in the years that I have worked as a therapist.

Claire Weekes' anxiety book has helped and inspired so many to overcome anxiety.

So years and books later, I've found my opinion and regard for Weekes' book to remain unchanged. "Self Help for your Nerves" remains one of the top books in its field.
