Generating more waste, the problem and what to do about it
This is a strong recommendation to all those who are involved in producing and fabricating products for modern society. Not that it is your fault but the amount of waste in society today is a mixture of two issues.
The first is the manufacture and production of product form the side of producers and the second is the wasteful ness that consumers or distributer commit agents the planet.
In my opinion the number one issue regarding the wastefulness involved in production is the fact that we create so many products that by products are not biodegradable. That is excluding the fact as to whether of not the product is biodegradable. The example I will draw upon is plastic. It is use in so many capacities it is difficult to count. From mannequins and dress forms to car parts and thermos bottles, plastic is one off the most commonly used product in the world. The issue with plastic is that it is not biodegradable and therefore its fabrication does untold damage to the planet.
True it is a recyclable product and can be put to good and productive use many different times none the less, it still eventually ends up in a land fill somewhere and that contributes to the cancer of the earth that is slowly developing.
What I will suggest is a bit more expensive but I think it is high time we return to glass bottles and other biodegradable substances to replace the infection of plastic.
The second issue is on the part of the consumer. I worked for a catering company in my youth and the amount of food we wasted is both shocking and appalling. We would throw out so much food at the end of an event it could feed a homeless shelter the kind of food that these unfortunate people never get to see let alone eat. We would waste plastic plates and other plastic were. It came to a point where I would collect the food to bring to homeless shelters simply because I could not tolerate the wastefulness.
Something has got to be done on the part of the government to regulate the wistfulness that we do a society is real and concrete ways. Our planet and our future are at risk and it is up to us to do something about it.
