Engineered Solutions for Complete Mechanical Advantage

Right tool from right manufacturers is essential for critical operations and severe operations environments. Steel production, log handling, petrochemical processing, mining, nuclear power generation and other process critical industries trust overhead cranes for their critical material handling equipment requirements.

Exclusively designed, rugged, high quality process and heavy duty overhead cranes are unrivalled for safety, robustness and performance. With the kind of capital investment involved, companies choose industrial cranes designed for their specific requirements to ensure peace of mind and total cost of ownership. Overhead cranes drive solutions for material movement and space-related problems.

The key components of an overhead crane include a travelling base fitted over traveling rail on the either sides. The end carriage on both the sides has wheel base and geared motor for crane movement. End trucks usually come built with structural tube or welded steel box construction for ultimate rigidity. The girder on top is responsible for side movement of the hoist and trolley. It is responsible for minimizing the headroom and maximizing the height of the lift. The hoist and the trolley arrangement posses separate motors and gear assemblies. The hoist is the true heart of a crane, which can be tailored to the duty, clearance, lift and speed requirements. The crane also has a drive arrangement for the sideways movement on the top girder.

An overhead crane can carry a load across the length and width of the manufacturing or construction location and drop if off at the machining center. Overhead cranes come with specific adjustable frequency drive for smooth precise positioning, smooth start-up and stop and controlled accelerations. The operator can control the uploading, offloading of the tooling, depending on the location of the manufacturing process. Most overhead cranes are ratio operations enabled to allow operator with the flexibility to stand anywhere and control the crane safely.

Overhead cranes are available in four basic configurations, each providing unique features and solutions for material handling requirements. In top running bridge or overhead crane, the crane bridge travels on the top of rails. In under running crane, the crane bridge moves on the bottom flange of the runway beam, which is supported by the beam structure. The single girder overhead crane consists a single bridge girder and the trolley hoist unit whereas the double girder crane is powered with two end trucks, bride girders, and the trolley hoist that runs on the rails on the top of the bridge girders.

Most of the overhead crane manufacturers provide after sale machine servicing and parts replacement facilities. You can choose the right material handling equipment as per your requirement.
