Think about itThink about it. These are just a few of the components that go into web development

Designing a brand new web presence to professional standards does take a reasonable amount of time to complete. This may or may not come as a surprise, but when you really sit down and think about all of the different areas of work and expertise that actually goes into the creation of a new website, it's kind of amazing how quickly it does all come together in the end.

Think about it. These are just a few of the components that go into web development:

Planning and research

Content development

Wireframe site creation

Navigation design

Graphic design of the site

Programming and coding basic site functionality

Programming advanced site functionality like CMS and shopping cart software

Selecting and adding appropriate images

Editing, formatting, and adding written content to the site

Adding videos and other multimedia features to the site

Extensive testing

On site search engine optimization

Off site SEO work

Establishing and setting up hosting

Domain setup

Email setup

And the list could go on and on!

As you can see, pulling off a timely launch of a new website from start to finish can clearly be quite the feat of accomplishment. To make deadlines, everything must flow smoothly and according to plan-even small diversions from the initial plan of action can spiral to more significant delays later in the process.

So, back to the timeline for completing a new website...

Can a website be completed overnight? Unfortunately, it's just not possible. It's safe to say that 2 or 3 weeks once progress towards development begins would be just about the most conservative time frame estimate for a fairly basic site. More complexity and more features tend to take more time for development...that's only natural, right?

And then for the SEO process, it's important to know that the on-site SEO is generally completed as part of the website development phase itself. The offsite SEO process kind of kicks in once the site launch is complete. We've found that it usually takes about 6 weeks or so from the time off site SEO begins until the initial results can begin to take place. Things can speed up a bit after this initial timeframe.

So, in the end, the bottom line is that quality web development does take some time and patience, but the end results will definitely be worth the wait!
