The Mindset of Successful Bloggers

What Does it Take to Succeed as a Blogger?

It takes a certain mindset. Two important things to keep in mind as you build your blog(s):

If you treat your site like a business, it will grow into a prosperous business; if you treat it like a hobby, it will stay a hobby.

At any given time, there are at least a dozen different things you could be working on in your online business. If you hit a roadblock somewhere, don't stop working. Ask for help - and while you wait, get busy working on another part of your business.

Ask any Blog Success member who has built a high traffic blog, and they'll tell you that it takes hard work and dedication - but that it's well worth all of the time and effort you put into it.

We Are Bloggers

Anyone can learn to build high traffic sites based on basic research.

The kind of site you build to capitalize on an opportunity is just "details." Knowing which market niches to build in and how to provide content, products, and features that capture the audience better than the competition is what a pro blogger does well.

Bloggers Have a Macro View of Markets They Target

Though you are currently in charge of building your blog, you're also learning this business from the ground up.

You are going to be learning how to take advantage of a niche by learning what everyone else is doing, successful or not, and plugging the "holes" in the information and resources currently ignored or under served by the other publishers in your niche. You are looking for an angle to come in and gain popularity for a fresh view, fresh content, and doing it like no one else is.

Bloggers Know What's Going on in Their World at All Times

A good blogger can talk to people about virtually any topic after they have done a year's worth of collecting, analyzing, and organizing information not just from the web, but from the world around them.

I find myself talking to people about the oddest things at times and it comes from being a "collector" of information from magazines, newspapers, and a wide array of casual research on the web.

It also doesn't hurt hanging out with several hundred fellow bloggers at Blog Success who are all working on a huge variety of niche sites!
