* Evaluate your own expectations. Chances are, they're still filled with some sort of childhood dreams or fantasies. Don't want to run because things don't quite fit your "perfect" image. Look at your spouse's strengths instead of just focusing on their weaknesses
* Act, don't analyze. You can change your feelings and your partner's by actions, not by words.
* Don't try to sell your spouse on your way of doing things. Stretch your own comfort zone and learn to love him the way he is.
As human beings, we tend to have the greatest resistance to change when we need it the most. Change can be scary as hell. If we refuse any type of change, you probably wont be able to save a failing marriage
