Solar Hot Water Systems, Do They Really Work?

A few years back I got an oil bill that almost gave me a heart attack, the bill was for the summer months which I just use to heat my water heater. I guess I never noticed it because the boiler also feeds my heating system and before the oil prices were low but with the oil increase, I noticed it. I decided to do somethingabout it so I can afford to heat my water.

I started to look for alternative ways to heat my water and so I found solar heating to be the best option. After extensive research on renewable energy I found the Sunmaxx solar system to be very efficient and so I purchased one.

I installed the solar system and was very proud that I was on my way to converting my home to a green home. The solar hot water system will heat my water at 120 deg with no problem and I only have 6 hrs of sun exposed to the evacuated solar collectors, the more exposure the better. In the summer I actually shut down my boiler and can continue to use free hot water.

The bottom line is, YES! it works and it's worth every penny I spent, I calculated a 5-7 year return on investment. The best thing is that I'm not paying any extra than what I was already paying, my monthly payment for the investment is about the same as my previous monthly oil bill and a little left over. Also the goverment (Fed and State) pays for more than half the cost and if you finance the rest, it's a no brainer, anyone can afford it as long as you can borrow money.

I will continue to convert my home to a Green one, "Stop Feeding The Oil Companies" although we still need them butfor now, we can atleast reduce our usage.

If you would like help you can contact me and I will be glad to help as I do to most of my customers, my company is Village Gone Green it is an Energy Savings company.

Hope this helped, Thanks.

Alex
