Repair Laptop Computer or Buy a New Computer?

It is true that every time new laptop computers becomes more inexpensive regardless of the computer brand. There is something that you should know when considering whether repair or buy a new computer:

Most laptop computers that require some kind of service, they are most likely to be serviced on software issues

When laptop computers gets slow it is not because it is old.

Laptop computers get infected by different kind of malwares and viruses making it slow, there are times when these infections can render the computer completely useless.

Other reason for laptop computers to be slow may depend on the type of Operating System; let's consider Windows Vista for example. Windows Vista is slow by nature. Now imagine Windows vista when it gets infected or supper loaded with software applications. Users with Widows Vista should consider migrating to Windows 7 very seriously. Windows 7 will save you time and headache!

The secret of repairing a computer is not to go directly to the dealer or manufacturer. The dealer or manufacturer will always service your computer at a higher price, and servicing your computer at a higher price doesn't mean you are receiving a better service.

For example: Are you willing to have your computer's data to be wiped out?

Where is my data?

Most software repair such as virus and malware infections does not require a complete format for cleanning the infection. Not knowing how to clean the infection manually can be a very good excuse to format the hard drive of the computer. Yes, we agree that once it has been formatted, the infection is eliminated...but is that a right solution for you?

Some manufacturers who directly support their computer don't train their technicians and quite often they always outsource their service support. That is the reason that when you drop off your computer for service, the computer is being shipped to a third party company and this is also the reason why those repairs will take from two weeks and beyond a month. All computers regardless of the brand use other brands inside them.

Computer manufacturers don't make hard drives, computer manufacturers don't make CPUs and of course computer manufacturers don't develop their own Operating System. Your current computer is made by several companies, whether you own Sony, Dell, Hp, Compaq, Acer, Mac, etc. it doesn't matter on the brand, all parts inside are made by several other companies. Who would offer you a better price when repairing your computer? Any decent repair shop will provide you a better repair price on parts and labor.

For example:

A Sony VAIO laptop computer that requires a hard drive replacement, Hitachi, Toshiba, Seagate, Fujitsu or an X brand of hard drive.

When the computer requires service, who do you think will provide you a better service? None of these drives are made by Sony, Sony does not make hard drives, and yes a Sony VAIO laptop computer can use any other brand of hard drive same or better quality!

It is obvious that not everyone who says know how to fix computers really know how to fix them. What do I mean with this? What I'm trying to say here is that performing a custom/clean Windows install requires knowledge and understanding of how the drivers and utilities work on a Sony VAIO computer. Dealing with Sony Custom Utilities can be challenging. Custom installation is a much better way to keep a computer with top performance; but Sony support staff is not trained to perform a Custom Windows install. Sony and any other brand will only support their computer with factory supplied restore CDs, and may not be able to provide you with proper support when you are migrating to a different version of Operating System, which means you are on your own.

Let's face it, buying the OEM parts from a major supplier provides the possibility of price being 40% less than going to the actual computer maker. Laptop computer LCDs are made by Samsung, LG, Toshiba, Qtronix, etc. Knowing the model or part number of the screen on your laptop computer provides you the ability to buy a new screen a lot cheaper. You still need to pay a technician to install it. All other parts in the computer can be obtained through major suppliers too.

Most laptops that are 3 years old are totally worth to be repaired. And those with Windows Vista are totally worth to migrate to Windows 7.

Now that you know this information, what computer brand would you buy? Not sure yet, need a free consultation, call Netcontrol Laptop Laboratory the people who know Laptops.
