Sometimes Texting is a great way to get a response quickly when only a small bit of information is needed. However, in this great technology age many things are not as reliable as what they seem. So be aware that if you text a question that is time or emotion sensitive it is going to be subject to potential miscommunication, delivery issues, and errors.
Putting any message of true value into a text is risky. If the textee normally responds quickly but then does not respond for some time or not at all one can misconstrue this as a lack of interest. Any number of flukes may have occurred unbeknownst to the texter. When in doubt and before it is too late, if it is a time sensitive subject call! If the person is ignoring your text they will probably ignore your phone call too, granted leaving a voice mail makes sense because sometimes people go to the movies, are in bad reception areas, loose their phone, etc, you never know. 1. Is their phone password protected? This is a trust issue and also a good indication of someone who is not trustworthy since they do not trust others.
2. If you go near their phone do they seem nervous?
3. Do they hide their phone?
4. While you are out, do they leave the phone on the table but face down? Just for fun sit in a place that you can see their reflection when you turn away. You will see them checking it in quick glances especially if they are a poker player who knows how to slide a glace and not show his cards.
5. If you text them, they respond, then you call them within a few seconds do they not answer? This is a strong indication that this person is NOT as available as you might think.
