The iPad is the gizmo of 2011, everyone wants one but nobody is really sure why however, one thing is for sure, after nearly 14 million units sold, the iPad has certainly managed to plug a very large gap in the market and with the advent of the iPad 2, its dominance over the tablet market (currently at 90%), will only increase further. However, how do you make the most from your new device and what tips and tricks are there that perhaps you haven't heard of before that will make your life altogether simpler?
One of the main problems people have with the iPad is that there's no quick mute button, at least there wasn't when the device was first launched back in 2010. However, since the launch of Apple's new operating system 4.2, the rotation lock button has now be transformed into a handy mute button which you can use any time you want to stop the sound emanating from the device it's very handy! The control is positioned just underneath the volume button, all you need to do is flick it to the down position.
Do you ever want to see more Apps display in the dock section on your iPad? The dock section is the row of Apps positioned along the bottom of the screen, these are currently set to default at 4 however you can change this to include more with a simple trick. All you need to do is touch any icon on the home screen (wait until it starts to wobble a bit) and then move it down to the dock section this will give you quick and ready access to all of your favourite apps.
One further problem people experience when using the iPad is getting access to the contacts or music they want in a hurry this often means trailing through countless songs or contacts before you actually find the one you want. However, there is a simple way around this problem and it involves using what's called spotlight search with Spotlight all you need to do is simply search for a song or contact and then it will display them right then and there. You can access spotlight from the home screen.
