Avoid smoking as well as use of perfumes

Avoid the foods that will trigger asthma

Keep the bed room free of allergens and dust

Cover your mouth and nose with a scarf during cold climatic conditions

Replace the filter of air conditioner periodically

Asthma can be diagnosed based on complete medical history of the family. Doctor will also conduct physical tests including breathing tests using stethoscope and spirometer. Doctor will also examine the running nose and swollen air passage.

Since heredity is a main cause for asthma in children, asthma during pregnancy may affect the child. Pregnant women should avoid smoking and they must treat the asthma in the proper way.

Grind 250 grams of Indian gooseberry into a fine paste and mix with 50 grams of banyan root and 125 ml of honey. Eat the mixture in small quantity regularly to get relief from asthma.

Everyday in the morning take 3 to 4 dry figs. It will clean the respiratory tract thereby preventing asthmatic attack.

Mix a tablespoon of safflower seeds with one tablespoon of honey. By taking it once daily, the asthma will subside.
