I was looking at pictures and wallpapers the other day and came across one of a turtle. It made me think about the difference between people who are happy and successful and people who are not happy and successful. The wallpaper I found said, "Behold the Turtle. He only makes progress when he sticks his neck out." James Bryant Conant is the credited author. It reminded me that nothing comes knocking on your door except the UPS man. If you want anything in this world, you have to take some form of action. There are SO many resources at our disposal nowadays with the advent of the Internet. Any knowledge we want is virtually at our fingertips. Any help we need is a few keystrokes away.
I give my clients tools all the time to help them become more happy and successful. God / Spirit will recommend whatever tool is best for that particular client and I will relay the message. I also hear in my own head what is best for me, in case you were wondering that. I would say that only about 5 percent of my clients actually pick up the tool and run with it. Sometimes it's a book, sometimes it's a program or a course, sometimes it's simply focusing on one's breath. It used to bother me really badly when I first started 2 decades ago that people would not use these tools when I KNEW it would help them. I have come to realize over the years that there are people who just simply are not people who will actually DO something. They simply will not reach for more. I have yet to figure out if it is their soul's pact in this lifetime, if it's their mindset and/or belief system from the experiences in this lifetime or if they are just flat out lazy or all of the above.
I do not judge anyone for what they do or do not do. I do, however, ask them to be accountable for their lack of participation in their life and the changes, or lack thereof, in their life. For example, a VERY regular client came to me talking about how she was freaking out. I got her calmed down and then I asked her, "So, you doing the breathing exercises that were recommended to you two days ago?" She said, "What?" I said, "You remember. Sit down for 10 minutes, focus on nothing but your breathing. If your mind wanders, bring it back to your breath." She said, "Oh. No. Can't you just tell me how to fix this !?!?!?!?" I said, "I just did." She said, "How?"
If you want changes in your life, you absolutely, positively must take some type of action. It doesn't have to be HARD. For example, there are all kind of new technologies involving brain training, brain syncs, etc. All you have to do is sit down, put on some headphones and LISTEN your way to change. How much easier can it get!? So my friends, what changes do you want to make in your life to assure that you are happy and successful? I'd love to help you. Drop on in.
