This was just the second UFC betting event to be held overseas, and while the tickets sold out faster than the original event, it remains hard to say whether or not UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch actually sold with the fans.
UFC 127 Results The biggest disappointment had to be the over-hyped main event match between BJ Penn and Jon Fitch, which after three average rounds ended with a majority draw. Penn controlled Fitch throughout most of the early portion of the fight, but it wasn't the dominant performance that he has put on so many times in the past. There was a sense of control in his attack, almost afraid to become too aggressive in fear that Fitch would capitalize on any openings that he allowed. Many felt the second round should have gone to Fitch, which is understandable given the way that he attacked his opponent, with conditioning proving the most relevant sports betting factor in the round. The same can be said about the final round, as Fitch really controlled the fight after taking Penn down to the mat. The former Welterweight and Lightweight champion simply couldn't escape the clutch that he was in, and although it seemed as though the bout should have been scored in favor of Fitch, in the end the match was ruled a majority draw

The fight that fans seem to get the most behind was in the lead up to the main event, as Michael Bisping got the decision over Jorge Rivera via Technical Knock Out. The tilt lasted just under two minutes into the second round, but several fans felt as though it shouldn't even have gone on that long as the victor deserved to be disqualified after landing some illegal knees to the head when Rivera was on the mat. Bisping could have very well been disqualified at that sports betting bonus point in similar fashion to the way that Jon "Bones" Jones was given the only loss of his career, but instead the referee elected to simply give Rivera's corner the extra point and reset. Unfortunately for the loser, the damage had already been done and it was only a matter of time before Bisping would prevail.
Two of the first three UFC Picks matchups of the main card went to unanimous decision, as hometown favorite George Sotiropolous took down Dennis Siver, and Chris Lytle defeated Brian Ebersole. The lone submission of the main card came in the opening contest, with Kyle Noke submitting Chris Camozzi with a rear naked choke hold just over a minute-and-a-half in to the opening round of their pay per head fight. Overall, the event left distaste in the mouths of most MMA fans, but in the end it was an event that was worth betting favorites on.
