The LPR Lighting is better known as the number plate recognition system or is also known by the name of the license plate recognition system. The details are compared with that of the database and thus retrieving the details of a car becomes easy.
For this reason, now a day it has become quite easier for any person who is related with the police department to get a track of any stolen car, which has been stolen and could not be found.
The LPR Lighting system works in the following way. In most of the cases, the LPR or the ALPR light consists of an infrared lighting system, which scans the number plate of the car and then takes the image very quickly. As soon as the image has been taken then the image is sent to the main database to the base where the details are compared and important information is retrieved. Information like the name of the person to whom the car was actually registered and what was the manufacturing date, the address of the owner of the car and etc can all be retrieved from the database. This is the main reason that not only the traffic police but also the crime branch use this device to track criminals by tracking their vehicles, in which they have possibly fled.
After the arrival of the ALPR light in the life of the human kind, retrieval of stolen cars have also become quite easy as now a day in most of the cases, a police does not have to take any kind of hassle in finding the stolen are as he can simply get the details of the car from the database and as soon as any such kind of car is found then he can detect the number plate and can get sanguine of the fact if the car is the same stolen car or not.
However, the ALPR light has several disadvantages such as not giving clear images. In case of any car driving at a great speed, the ALPR light is unable to take proper image of the car and this is one major disadvantage of the system.
