Mozilla Prepping Release of 'Firefox Home' Browser Syncing App

Mozilla yesterday announced that it is preparing to launch an iPhoneapplicationcalled "Firefox Home" that will offer users the ability to sync their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks, and tabs from their most recent browser session on other platforms. The application also provides "Awesome Bar" compatibility, allowing users to access favorite websites with a minimum of typing.

Firefox Home for iPhone is part of a broader Mozilla effort to provide a more personal Web experience with more user control. For devices or platforms where we're unable to provide the "full" Firefox browser (either technically or due to policy), we aim to provide users with "on the go" instant access to their personal Firefox history, bookmarks and open tabs on their iPhones, giving them another reason to keep loving Firefox on their desktops.

Rather than astandalone browser, content from Firefox Home will launch in an integrated WebKit-based viewer.
