Airlines in Australia and Thailand to Direct New Flights

Phuket first became a tourist destination in the early 1970's mainly for backpackers; it has since developed into a bustling holiday resort. The brand new 8over8 Hotel close to the stunning Bangtao beach, Laguna is the latest offering in luxury accommodation in Phuket, brought to you by Castlewood Group.

Airlines in Australia and Thailand are opening new flights to Bangkok and Phuket. These new flights from Bangkok Airways and Australian company Strategic Airlines are going to help boost the countries already booming tourism trend.

Bangkok Airways has opened up new flights from India and Bangladesh to Bangkok. These new flights are expecting to increase sales to 27%, with revenue of THB10.5 billion. They are to release 6 flights per week to the destinations of Mumbai and Dhaka.

Strategic Airlines, with headquarters in Brisbane, began deploying flights from Melbourne and Brisbane to Phuket mid February 2011. Strategic Airlines will be opening another head office in Luxemburg, which will charter flights throughout Europe.

Marketing Executive at Castlewood Group, Madeline Beale, commented, "With new flights heading to Phuket, our 8over8 Hotel will greatly benefit from these new routes. Phuket has reaped the benefits after flights were chartered from Russia and China to the resort destination. With the addition of the new International Airport being built and the increase of flights, Castlewood Group is pleased to be opening our new 8over8 Hotel at the end of 2012 to provide a different level of luxury in Phuket.

Phuket as a holiday destination has so much to offer, spectacular scenery, beautiful sunsets, stunning beaches and warm blue waters are what makes Phuket the most favored beach destination in Asia. There are so many things to attract couples, singles and families alike in Phuket it is hard to name them all but one thing that you will never forget having visited this beautiful part of Asia is the warm hospitality of the locals.

One of the great things about Phuket is there is always something to do and one absolute must is to take a day trip to Phan Nga Baywhy? Because it is so unique. The bay is home to sheer limestone cliffs that vertically jut out of the water, James Bond Island (starred in the James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun') and Koh Panyee are two of the very famous islands in the bay. The waters are emerald green and to take full advantage, the best way to enjoy this rare beautiful scenery is by boat. Take a trip from the North of Phuket and enjoy cruising around the limestone islands, the boat trips will usually stop to take in the quiet unspoilt beaches too.

Old Phuket Town is a historical part of town where you will discover Buddhist and Chinese temples, shrines quaint cafes and museums. The best time to visit is early morning or later in the day when it is a little cooler, the town itself is compact enough to walk around and there are plenty of cafs and restaurants to keep you refreshed throughout your visit. Thalang Road is the commercial centre of the old town and it is here that you will discover some extraordinary little shops selling Chinese herbal medicine and handicrafts.

Of course we must mention the spectacular beaches of Phuket which boast an abundance of white sand and crystal clear waters. Bangtao Beach is probably the most beautiful with its 6km of gorgeous beach, many parts towards the north have no developments at all and as the beach is mainly only used by the Hotel guests it is very peaceful and quiet.

Castlewood Group's new 8over8 Hotel will be in an enviable location close to the luxurious Laguna Resort on Bangtao Beach which has managed to stay true to its natural surroundings and is not as commercially developed as other parts of Phuket.
