This is my story of how I got started when I was 21 years old, which would have been 2002. Sure, as you read this, you might be thinking that it was easier to use these methods for internet marketing years ago, and it was, but they still work and they still work very well. I still use many of the same methods; of course, I have scaled them up as I have learned over the years.
I discovered article marketing when I was 21 years old and I have always been a pretty good writer. Writing is how I got A's and B's in high school and this is something that I have always been good at. However, every single guide I have ever read about article marketing says that anybody can write and I tend to believe this. It is not hard to put together and article and the more you put together the easier it gets.
When I started I was only promoting products from Clickbank and using Google Adsense advertising. Now I have promoted everything from physical products that are actually shipped to membership sites that I make a recurring income from. Many guides will tell you that you need to be passionate about what you decide to promote, but that is not completely true. I have promoted things I do not even know about. This is exciting because I get a chance to learn about something else.
I started almost 9 years ago and went from a few hundred dollars a month to a full time income. I now work from my home and I never have to work for someone else again. I have used a combination of writing for other people and writing for myself to build up my business to where I do not have to worry about writing for others as much anymore. This is a great combination because it works great with my skill set.
If you know writing is going to be a struggle for you, then set your goals to write for the first three months. After the first three months are up you can outsource the writing from some of your earnings. This will make it easy to build up your business without having to write as much. Then, you can spend time learning some of the other tricks that will help you become a better internet marketer.
