Basically in old age usually man drains his all powers. He is really dependent on others and has no other way to live. Besides these health problem beset the people and he even not able to see clearly and listen properly. And in most cases, after having their own descendants and grand children, they have live to live alone. Now the only way they have to spend his time is to move about aimlessly here and there or sit in a cafe shop and consume a brandy. Simply they pass very poor time.There is lots of difference in between the behaviors, acting and character of these two waiters are based up on the experiences of their life and age disparity among them. The older waiter shows more concord, pity and benevolence for the people. This can be noted when he expresses his point of view about soldier that passes by with the prostitute as "The guard will pick him up." While on the other hand younger waiter does not cares for the world and its peoples. He answered on the comment of other soldiers as "What does it matter if he gains what he is after?"
