Hi! I am Samantha Collins and like every other person today, I too own a PC. Recently, I learned about how to remove temporary files from a technician, who works with a tech support company. I immediately put my knowledge into application and the result was that I was able to download webpages and do surfing a lot faster. I discovered that one of the ways to optimize a computer is to remove temp files.
On reading this article, you will learn what temporary files are and how one can remove them. Temporary files consist of the content of certain websites that you visit frequently. These files are created so that you could download the content more quickly. The files make sure that Internet Explorer or MSN Explorer downloads only that content that is new or has been changed. You may come across even those files that you are unable to download because of certain restrictions on a particular site.
Now, that you know what temporary files are, I will tell how they are removed. Your system performance is bound to slow down if there are too many temporary files present in your PC. They could mostly be pictures but there might be other files as well. In order to remove temporary files, you first need to close Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer. Then you have to click on Start' and then Control Panel'. Once you see Internet Options', double click it. After this, you need to go to Delete Files' on the General' tab. Then, you have to check the Delete All Offline Files' box under Temporary Internet Files' and at last press Ok'. When you click Ok' again, temporary files will get removed. If the temporary files contain a large amount of data, it will take longer to remove them. If you are not able to access these files, you can contact a system administrator. There are some files known as cookies that might be left behind in the temporary Internet files folder. In order to remove them, you have to follow the same procedure but in the end, you need to go the Cookies' section.
