The Battery garden is a Scheduled monument and lies in a large 14-acre site. It was used as a battery in 1586 during the England and Spain conflict. Further, the Coast Guard for gun training during the 1870's also used it. But, the main purpose of the Brixham Battery was to defend all the beaches against landings by enemies. Besides appreciating the beauty of the place, you can also learn much of the history of the place.
