subject: Can I Get My Shipment Picked Up The Same Day I Schedule The Delivery? [print this page]

Many businesses have a regularly scheduled courier pickup that happens at the same time every day, or every few days. This makes delivery and pickup a smooth operation, and generally has a lower shipping cost associated with it as well. However, this isn't always going to be possible, because many different types of businesses work in industries where last minute or emergency orders come in. When they do, those businesses need a Phoenix messenger service that they can rely upon to come and get their order as soon as possible in order to make the delivery to their client as prompt as they can. This is why many companies find it worthwhile to shop around for a courier company until they find one that can make pickups the same day the call is made to schedule the shipment.

The good news is that couriers have risen to meet the ever increasing demand for faster response times from delivery companies. In the past it was common practice that in order to have a package picked up the next day, orders would have to be called into the courier by 5:00 PM the previous day. This is rarely the case anymore unless one is shipping economy service, in which case those guidelines still often apply. Most couriers have an alternative shipping option, or more than one though, that will allow people to have orders picked up the same day they schedule them. The only thing to be aware of is that often the less time between when you call and when your order is actually picked up, the more the delivery will cost you.

Many couriers now offer what is called same day service, and this means that from the time that you place the order they will delivery your package to its destination within the same day (or 24 hours depending on your courier) of when you booked the shipment. This would be the next fastest option after next day or economy service, in both price and time of shipping. There are also faster and more expensive options that can get your package picked up even faster. Many couriers offer a one or two hour delivery service within their service area, meaning that they will come and pick up your shipment as fast as they possibly can after you finish scheduling the pickup, much faster than having to wait until the day after you've called.
