For the last four months, I've been heavily weighing my options, and I finally made a decision a few weeks ago,I came to this conclusion based on several factors:
I've tried every tattoo cover-up cosmetic I could get my hands on and none of them were worth a damn.
Laser tattoo removal is crazy expensive, much more painful, and not guaranteed to work 100%.
I love the idea of having a big, beautiful tattoo showing on my upper arm when I'm wearing my wedding dress.
I found an idea for a design that I really, really loved, and I found a tattoo artist who is the best for cover-ups in the city of Philadelphia.
Yeah. It's a fairy. Why I got a fairy tattoo when I have never had even the smallest interest in fairies is something that my impulsive 18 year-old self may be able to answer, but my 35 year-old self is at a loss. Not only was the tattoo completely meaningless to me, but it was done very poorly. The worst part of it was this conversation with strangers, that happened at least once a day in public any time I wore something sleeveless.
Unfortunately, I learned that these all-black, tintype-looking roses wouldn't be dense enough to cover up the fairy. Carla said that I'd need something with a pretty rich color to do so. She said she'd come up with a sketch for me, and I came back the next week to check it out.
She said that my tattoo would look very similar to the botanical sketch, but with much deeper color (dark purples and mauves, with rich green leaves) and not quite as spindly. I loved her ideas and made an appointment to come back for the real thing.I am so,affordable wedding invitationsso thrilled with how it turned out. It's got the Victorian look that I wanted, with the rich color of my inspiration photos from this past fall. I especially love the green leaves.
