How to earn money your first consideration

At the end of the day, it is usually possible to make money faster and more easily by being slightly dishonest. You are therefore likely to face the temptation to be dishonest in the course of earning money. But it is not smart to make money dishonestly. As Henry Ford said "Quality means doing it right when no one is looking".
Consider for a moment, the reason you want to make money. You want to live and derive satisfaction from having money to spend and possibly being generous to others with your money. If you have earned your money dishonestly, then your conscience is going to interfere with your enjoyment of what you have earned, so you are defeating the objective before you have even begun. How much better would it be to set about making your money honestly. That way, you can derive additional satisfaction, besides spending it, by pleasing your employer or your customer (or both).
If you establish this as a principle, then after doing this for many years, you will derive ongoing pride and satisfaction, together with a good reputation and respect within your community. Your character will be improved by such an approach. It has been said that your character is the sum total of all the decisions that you have ever made. Invest in your future and the more you do so, the more that your present experience will benefit from the past investments that you made in your future.
How to earn money selfishness and dishonesty don't pay
By contrast, someone who takes a less than honest approach will live to regret it. While they might make short-term profits, people will not want to deal with them again and their reputation will force them to have to move on to other areas, where they are not known. Repeat business, honest trading a good conscience and a good reputation will in the long run pay far greater dividends than a short-sighted, selfish and dishonest approach to making money.
