Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota customers may have been keeping up with the different recalls that have occurred with Toyota Motor Corp over the past two years. From sticky gas pedals, faulty fuel pipes, high-pressure fuel pumps and pressure sensors, Toyota has recalled more than 14 million vehicles worldwide.
The largest recall was attributed to sticky accelerator pedals. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation which had been ongoing for over 10 months. With the help of NASA engineers, the NHTSA searched through more than 400,000 pages of code to ensure Toyota vehicles were not designed with an internal problem that would cause the pedals to stick. With all the negative news, there are finally good reports for Toyota as the NHTSA and NASA cleared Toyota of the faulty electronic throttle system allegations.

Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota shoppers should know as the investigation is being closed, the NHTSA has requested that Toyota conduct one final recall of 2.17 million vehicles that may experience the same issue with the accelerator pedals. Toyota Motor Corp has agreed to conduct the recall all at once and may hope this will put the previous two years into its past.
The vehicles that may be affected include Lexus RX330, 2004-2007; Lexus RX350, 2004-2007; Lexus RX400H, 2004-2007; Toyota Highlander, 2004-2006; Toyota Hybrid Highlander, 2004-2006; Lexus GS300, 2006-2007; Lexus GS350, 2006-2007; Lexus LX570, 2008-2011; Toyota 4Runner 2003-2009; and the Toyota RAV4, 2006-2010.
All Toyota customers who have one of these models are encouraged to have their vehicles inspected at any Toyota dealership like Atlantic Toyota or Huntington Toyota.
