subject: Where is the fault?!! [print this page] Where is the fault?!! Where is the fault?!!
Once INDIA had a GURUKUL When we go behind through our history of education in India. There were gurukuls where the students used to stay at their GURU's(teacher's) house, away from thier family, to learn the values of life... After they earned the knowledge they return to their GURUs a GURUDAKHSINA which could have been anything valuable to them.
Today we have schools, colleges, universities set up on the same concept. Up to my knowledge, the institutions in other countries is a copy of it. The students stay at hostels away from their family. They come to learn the concepts of Science, learn Mathematics, Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce etc. They return back the GURUDAKSHINA as a huge amount of fees. But in INDIA there are less amount of innovations than the western countries (but whatever innovation takes place here is great in its kind!). The great minds here dont get facilties, infrastructure here in INDIA. They head towards western countries finally a BRAIN DRAIN.
What went wrong?! The students in ancient days were benefited most by the GURUKUL system. Many factors are there. I am listing some of them.
Firstly, Most students dont understand the concepts taught by the teachers. I dont know if it student's fault or anyone else. The society declares a student successful only when they get marks in their exams. Even the parents ask only for that. The student, even if not understanding the concept, crams it just to excel the exam. The society doesn't know what success means. Do u know?! Click here to know. Their final aim just becomes to get a job and earn for their family. Most students dont try to excel in their actual talents which they have got.
Secondly, some students try for something different other than just cramming the subject. They dont care for the society initially. They accept the challenge. But once they fail in it, there is no one to help them sometimes their family too.
I admit that I should not expect only innovations, inventions etc from myself or my other student friends. Somebody gets pleasure in doing a job, someone loves entrepreneurship etc. What I am trying to convey is just to go through your will. If one doesn't understand a subject, he shouldn't be forced to study to make marks. He/ she should be encouraged for whatever good he wants to do for himself, his family, his country by his/ her own will. I have a message to all Indians.
Please try to uderstand all these situations and try to change the rules of the society. The youth should be encouraged for whatever good it wants to do. The youth should have faith on themselves and the determination to show to the society what they are here for. The youth will make the society for the next generation. So it all depends on us. Come on! Join our hands for the change...
