Nose Piercing - Recommendations
Nose Piercing - Recommendations

It is cool and fashionable to have nose piercing, but having it requires a certain deal of responsibility. You should take a proper care of your piercing in order to go through the healing process (from a month and a half to three months) easily and with no worry. These recommendations should be given by your piercer, but it is not out of place to remind them.

What you should do before you make nose piercing:

- Make sure that nose piercing is accepted by the dress-code of the organization you work or study at. Otherwise the puncture may cause you big discomfort. You will not be able to take out your nose ring and stay without it several hours as this action may prolong the healing process and even cause to close up of the puncture.

- Find a reputable piercer. You should overcome the temptation to run to the nearest salon. Please, visit a reliable place where you will get the proper anesthetization and be sure that the whole job will be done well.

What you should do when you have your nose piercing:

- Follow the hygiene rules. Before you start doing anything with your nose piercing site, you should wash your hands properly.

- Never forget about its proper cleaning which should be conveyed twice a day. For this you will need saline solution and cotton buds.

- Never play with your piercing jewelry as contact with dirty fingers can easily cause contamination which you obviously do not want.

- Be careful with your make-up. Fresh nose piercing should not be powdered or put on with toner. You should also be careful with various makeup removers, lotions and tonics.

- Do not hurry to change your nose jewelry. You should better wait till thepuncture is completely healed before putting in your new nose ring, barbell or stud.

- Deal with potential bumps properly. If unfortunately you face with a little bump or bubble (the variations are: keloids, pus or fluid filled items, granulomas) around your nose piercing, you should be careful with it. At first you need to define what kind of bump you exactly have and check whether it is solid or not. You should never pierce or pop it as it may cause bacteria contamination. Instead you should better use hot compresses and your granuloma or keloid will go away. In case you have a keloid, you may also help yourself with lavender oil and vitamin E. If nothing helps and bumps get bigger or cause you some pain, you need to visit dermatologist.

Following these quite simple advice, soon you will be able to admire your nose with properly healed attractive piercing.
