During the 2010 11 NFL season the NFC West managed to once again steal the spotlight on the rest of the league. Essentially, despite every team finishing with records below 500, the division winning Seattle Seahawks, were able to make a splash in the playoffs, by beating the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints. To say that the Saints looked past the lowly Seahawks in the first round would be a huge understatement. Today we look at how to fix the Seattle Seahawks this offseason leading into the 2011 draft.

The Seattle Seahawks have been giving their fans fits since their Super Bowl appearance in 2005. Many of the members of Seahawks nation have been crying for a change at the quarterback position, as annually pivot Matt Hasselbeck has failed to guide the team back to a Super Bowl appearance. With NFC rival the Philadelphia Eagles, apparently willing to part ways with former starter of the future Kevin Kolb, many fans and experts alike believe Kolb could be the right man for a Pete Carroll style offense.

Last season the plan in Philadelphia was to have Kevin Kolb take over from Donovan McNabb who was traded to the Washington Redskins. However, in week one Kolb suffered a concussion at the hands of Clay Matthews of the Green Bay Packers, and as a result, not only did he miss several games, but he lost his status as the Eagles starter of the future. Now with Michael Vick at the helm, it appears that Kolb has become expendable.

In 2010, the Seattle Seahawks were simply put atrocious. The only reason they even made the playoffs, was because the St. Louis Rams are the St. Louis Rams, a team better associated with mediocrity then greatness. However, the fact that Seattle knocked off New Orleans gives their fans hope. With Kevin Kolb as the starter in Seattle, the Seahawks faithful may finally be able to see a contender built in the Grunge capital of the world.
