Organize Your Crafting Workspace: What to Do With Extra Supplies

If you've recently taken the time to clean up and clear out your scrapbook workspace, Congratulations! But... now you have all that extra card stock, patterned paper, and scrap book tools too... what to do with them? Here's a few suggestions to help you dispose of everything without having to throw anything away!

Card Stock and Patterned Paper

Give your children some standard scrapbook paper and your card stock 'scraps' then let their creativity show and grow! Add the completed pages to your family scrap book, or give them to a relative for a very special gift.

Donate them to a senior group, a church, or to a shelter.

Package coordinating colors of card stock and patterned paper together and give them as gifts to your scrapbooking friends

Create simple pages or blank layouts, package them with a few extra supplies, and donate them to your school or church as a Silent Auction item

Mail them to organizations that create greeting cards for our troops, or those with cancer.

Bring your friends together and create your own cards and donate to a charity of your choice.

Tools Which Are Still In Working Order

For less expensive items, you can dispose of them as noted above or below

For more expensive items, you might consider these ideas: Find an organization that provides after-school activities and offer to show them how to use the tool. You could also bring and donate card stock and patterned paper.

Have a Mommy and Me Party with your children and their friends and make gifts for their teachers. Offer to sell the tools to the guests (for a great price!) or trade for an evening of babysitting!

Duplicate & Unwanted Items

Organize a swap with your scrapbook and stamping friends

Sell them at a garage sale or at a swap meet

Find a local craft store that offers an option to bring in your items for store credit

Barter with friends... trade supplies for finished scrapbook pages or greeting cards

Sell them through on on-line auction site

Package like-items with card stock and donate for a charitable organization's fund raising event

Give them to any charitable organization as noted above

I hope these tips inspire you to find you own ways to handle your "extra" scrap book supplies. I'm sure you'll even think of a few new ideas too! And now that you've cleaned and organized your scrapbooking workspace you'll have lots of room... and energy to create beautiful layouts and pages!
