subject: Why Now Is The Time To Invest In A Used Bmw Z3 [print this page]

BMW's have an amazing reputation for being the ultimate driving machines, they are also known for their incredible levels of reliability and this is mainly down to the way that they are serviced and looked after by the company and their owners. This is in part what makes owning a used BMW such a joy.

One car in the range that is getting a second chance is the Z3, this used BMW was hot property when it was first released and is now experiencing something of a revival in the used car market.

The car was originally introduced to the market back in 1996 with a 1.8 litre engine but over its existence it appeared in many different guises including the 3.2 litre top of the range model.

As with all used BMW's it is best to shop around and check for a model that has been well looked after, full BMW service history will obviously be a bonus, as you can be assured that the car has been well serviced and looked after.

The Z3 had a number of modifications made to the car over the years as the company continually strived to market the range further. However, this means that you need to modify your search when looking for a real gem.

Traction Control was added to the model in 1997, while a year later the car came with rollover bars as standard. 1999 saw the innovation of side impact airbags ensuring extra safety, while the company took to modifying the bodywork with a revised tail section in the new millennium. The final change to the series came in 2001 when dynamic brake control was installed as standard maximising the extras you could receive with the last model.

Bearing all of this in mind, you should now be able to look at the various models and decide which you would like to purchase. The good news is that you can now obtain one of these fabulous used BMW's from as little as 4500 pounds, which makes it a bargain whatever way you look at it.

Obviously there are a few things to watch out for; it is always advisable that you check the service history of the car as well as getting an HPI check. Obviously if the car hasn't been serviced at a BMW dealer it doesn't mean that the car isn't worth the money you are paying, but it would be worth checking through the bills and MOT's to make sure all recommended work has been completed.

There has never been a better time to own a used BMW Z3, with prices falling and the winter upon us you should be able to pick up a real bargain ready for the summer in 2010.
