This category centers around the concept of nonprofessional models. The main appeal of this type of picture is that the model is posing nude for the first time (which, in reality, may or may not be true).
Lighting:
To stay consistent with the theme, it's best to use lighting that appears slightly "amateurish" as well. I often use a small light source (or even on-camera flash) to create a look that is a bit harsh and possesses a higher-than-normal contrast range.
This type of "amateur" lighting will serve to enhance the fantasy that the model is simply posing for a friend, boyfriend, or spouse.
Wardrobe:
Wardrobe choices for "Amateur" sets tend to be on the casual side. This is because, with this type of shoot, you'll often want to convey the fantasy that the pictures were taken without a lot of thought or planning. To help do this, casual clothing can be used to suggest that the pics were taken very spontaneously.
Conversely, it's also possible to create a different type of "amateur" vibe by visually suggesting the idea that the model got "all dressed up" for her first photo shoot. Shooting Tips:
When photographing "Amateurs", it's a good idea to stay away from anything that looks too polished. Her hair and makeup shouldn't look like it was done professionally. Additionally, her poses don't have to be perfectly executed (in fact, it can sometimes be sexy if she appears a bit awkward).
