I compiled this short list of the most visited sites in the world from traffic statistics that I found on Alexa, in February 2011.
I cannot tell you exactly how many people visit these sites everyday, because Alexa doesn't use numbers, but percentages to describe the "reach" a site has.
For example, Google has a reach of 49% or so of all internet users, and the number of internet users goes up and down daily, but it's somewhere around 100 million people.
Google is first on the list of thetop ten most visited sites and it has been gaining popularity over the last two years, rising from only 30% reach in 2009.
Facebook is the second most visited site, and it is rising faster than Google, as it had a reach of 15% two years ago, and now it is visited by around 40% of all people online regularly. People tend to stay on Facebook longer as well.
You Tube has a reach of 25%, and it has been growing in popularity over the last two years as well, and is making more money because people stay on the site longer.
Yahoo also has a 25% share of all visitor traffic, although it has been losing numbers over the last year.
Wikipedia has 14% and rising, Windows Live has 13.5% and falling, and Blogger has 13% and rising.
Baidu is the Chinese language equivalent of Google, and it has a reach of 10% of all people online, perhaps because there are a billion people in China.
Twitter has about a 10% share of all internet traffic, rising sharply from 1% two years ago, and QQ.com is the Chinese equivalent of Yahoo, and has 7.5% reach.
