When DOMS Kick in
When DOMS Kick in

I managed to get my kit sorted early which was good, as it meant I was in for late nights leading up to the weekend. Monday I did my new regime of 5mile run at lunch, for some reason this was disappointingly slow (3mins compared to last week). I still came in within the target, which I was happy with.

That evening I carried on with the strengtheners, concentrating on squats, dead lifts, bench press and leg press. I have mastered the art of squats and dead lifts and am really enjoying doing them. I maxed for Squats 110kg and dead lifts 120kg.

The DOMS kicked in a couple of days later just in time for out first PTI session at det. It was a good session it started off with a rope work teaching us how to climb a 20ft rope and then turned into a gentle' 20min run. The run was gentle, but halfway round we stopped to do a circuit, which involved lots of piggy back races and 3 man carriers followed by press ups, sit ups, dip and squats.

The races were hard, especially as I had a bit of a cold so I found my self struggling for air and feeling sick, which wasn't good. Not only this, but the recovery time between exercises was non existent. We did a couple of circuits and then ran back to the det. On the way back there were 2 mounds of sand/gravel from works there were happening.

Will I get more DOMS? Time will tell!! I must remember what my Penarth Personal Trainer tells me after sessions. Rest is vital to recovery and ensure I take my Juice Plus on a daily basis.
