Visit France for New Year

Book Early To Avoid Disappointment!

First tip I'd offer is if you are planning on spending New Years Eve in Paris. Get a room, now! Rooms can fill up for this annual celebration way in advance. They get very pricey to book nearer the time.

There are so many diverse events that you can attend and lots of different activities in Paris that you can do to celebrate New Year.

Here are some things to do on New Year's Eve in Paris:

Have a fun night out in Paris' party district by visiting Pigalle Place for the cabaret shows. Book a Moulin Rouge show or a Lido Show.

Take a Seine River cruise, which is an ideal choice for couples spending New Year's Eve in Paris. We would also suggest booking the Romantic Paris by Night Seine River & Dinner tour.

New Year's Eve Elsewhere in France

Avignon makes a great choice. This is a city that is vibrant yet smaller than Paris. Since it's in the South of France, it will provide a warmer spot to ring in the New Year.

Viella in the Midi Pyrenees holds its annual New Year's Eve Grape Picking. Attend an evening mass, followed by a torchlight procession to the vineyards for mulled wine. The grapes are picked at midnight.

By now, they have over-ripened naturally, and the strong sweet wine they produce has flavours of honey, spices and exotic fruits, and a smoothness that goes down wonderfully well as an aperitif or served with foie gras.

The Midi-Pyrenees region also features several other celebrations, and this is an ideal winter-time destination bordered to the South by the Pyrenees range and dotted with ski resorts.

Midi Pyrenees Tourism Office features a couple of New Year's Eve packages that entice. For one package, stay in the charming Chteau de Fontanges in Rodez. This is a lovely small city in southwestern France, featuring a remarkable medieval cathedral.

If you get over to France for New Year I'm confident that it will be a memorable experience for you. Enjoy
