A Good Look at the Lean Belly Prescription

Everybody sees that having lots of fat on our bellies is not good. Not only is it to blame for the "muffin tops" we all loathe so much, it puts real pressure on our bodies while adding to issues like heart disease, diabetes and more. There is a new book, however, entitled The Lean Belly Prescription that, according to the marketing, will help you lose your muffin top while simultaneously improving your health. This book has been reviewed pretty much everywhere and we wanted to find out if the contents of the book are as good as anything else that is already out there so we thought we would give it a closer look.

The book can be bought through standard bookselling outlets like Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Borders. This helps provide believability and legitimacy on the book. It likewise makes it more worth getting because you won't have to worry about loads of affiliates presenting overly inflated reviews to make sure that they earn lots of commissions even if the book isn't helpful. It helps that the book was made by Travis Stork. You probably recognize him as one of the medical doctors from the syndicated show "The Doctors" and as a reality contestant on "The Bachelor." Obviously, though, he's more than a television personality. He is a genuine medical doctor and works in the emergency room at an actual hospital.

The book was produced in order to advertise his Pick 3 to Lean plan. The Pick 3 to Lean system makes it possible to customize your diet and lifestyle habits but does not require you to spend hours and hours working out a gym. The program claims to help you lose weight without having to give up any of the things you love-food, free time, etc. The theory behind this kind of plan is called the Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (or N.E.A.T) theory. This is an idea that says you can burn calories and not do lots of exercise.

From what we could see, the book makes lots and lots of promises but won't offer any new or important information. The real simple fact is that most of the information found in this book could be found by doing a few basic Google searches and using your common sense. This will probably be a major dissatisfaction for the people who like to know the reasoning behind the instructions that they are given and expected to adhere to. The publication does not go into theory very much in the least. Instead it basically offers readers with a collection of outlines and instructions to follow. If you are a person who would like to have a clear cut plan to follow but who doesn't want to have to worry about the particulars of the plan, this might be the book you are looking for.

Traditional common sense informs us that the only real way to lose weight is to consume good food and get regular exercise. This book flies in the face of that logic, so we aren't really sure if it will work as well as it says it does. However, in this day and age, with a doctor's blessing (your own physician, not the author of the book), anything at all is worth at least a cursory glance!
